Welcome to Year R

We have had everyone at school this week as our new Year R children joined us. It has been amazing to see how quickly they have settled in. We are very impressed with them all, they look very smart and grown up in their school uniforms. Our Year 6 children have been enjoying their ‘buddy’ roles and especially getting to know and support the younger children. I’m sure that you will join me in making our new families feel welcome. Here are the children having their morning snack and storytime!

Many of our clubs have started this week. We had a great turn out for Choir on Monday and Running Club this morning. It was a beautiful morning; misty and autumnal. You can see our runners in the picture above. The children were delighted to see Mrs McCarthy back with us, we are all really pleased that she is going to carry on helping us when she can!

During our assembly this week we talked about gathering together at school or at church and having the courage to stand up for what is right. We are looking forward to Bishop Richard’s visit on Monday and our special Mass and blessing of the new buildings. Please do join us if you can.

Our Year 4 children have their first, First Holy Communion preparation session this weekend, do keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they embark on this important step in their spiritual journey.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Elizabeth
