St Edmund's Feast Day

We started the week with the feast of St Edmund, our patron saint. We were delighted to have Fr Jonathan here to celebrate Mass. The children have enjoyed learning about St Edmund and finding out about his life. Do ask the children to tell you what they know about him. During the afternoon, each class chose an activity to enjoy in class; films, games and treats for our special day!

We had a very efficient team of nurses here on Tuesday to administer the Flu vaccine. The morning was very well-organised, and it was all done by 11.30!

Yesterday morning we had a learning walk looking at early reading and phonics. It is amazing to see the progress that the children have made using Little Wandle and to hear them reading fluently is wonderful. We watched some phonics lessons, heard children read and also talked to a group of children about reading, how often they read, what they enjoy and their reading experience at school. We want every child to love reading at St Edmund’s.

Everyone is very colourful today in their home clothes. The children brought in packets of sweets for the Christmas Fair next Saturday. Thank you for your support.

We have had some beautiful sunrises this week. The picture doesn’t really capture it well, as by the time I had fetched my camera the sky had lightened!

Have a lovely weekend,

Elizabeth
