Getting ready

We have had a cold and wintery week, rather fitting for the start of December. It was a below freezing run for Cross country this morning, and although we were cold to start with after several laps of the rec, everyone had warmed up. There was a good turnout despite the cold. Thank you to everyone who has supported the club this term. We will have a break from the club for the next few weeks and will start again after Christmas.

The hall display is looking beautiful and this morning, we lit the lights on the display and the Christmas tree. The tree is beautiful, it’s even taller than last year's! Thank you to Oxenford Farm in Elstead.

We started the week with Year R’s first school trip. They had a wonderful day at Wintershall for their advent workshop. Meeting the sheep, donkeys, angels, wise men and Mary and making the journey up the hill to Holly Barn where they re-enacted the story of the Nativity.  This experience will help the children to remember this wonderful story.

On Wednesday morning, Year 3, 4 and 5 watched a play called The Space Between (my head and heart), which cleverly taught them about mental health and well-being, including top tips for managing their own feelings and emotions. The cast were amazing actors and singers. The children loved every minute! You can see the space mission up above!

This morning we enjoyed some more amazing acting, this time from year 4 in their class assembly, ‘It’s all Greek to me’. They acted out the stories of King Midas, Pandora, Medusa, Theseus and the Minator and Orpheus and Eurydice. Everyone could see how much they have learnt and their enthusiasm and enjoyment shone through. Well done year 4.

There is great excitement for the Christmas Fair tomorrow morning. Everyone has been working hard to make sure that it is a success. Please do come and support them if you can. See you there!

Have a lovely weekend,
