Enriching experiences

It’s been a busy and exciting week at school.

We started the week talking about Jesus as the ‘Good Shepherd’, keeping his flock safe and knowing each one of us by name. We looked at pictures of Pope Francis, who has the Good Shepherd on his papal pectoral cross. This was his choice, when he became pope to keep this simple design portraying the good shepherd rather than the gold jewelled crosses some popes choose. Look out for it when you see pictures or footage of him.

We are trialling some stylish pink headphones from Now Press Play, over the next couple of weeks. They offer a totally immersive experience. Children can listen to and interact with a huge range of stories. The children experienced a WWII air raid in Year 6, a spring walk to a park and meeting baby animals in Year R.

Year 4 is having a wonderful three days at Sayers Croft. When I visited them on Wednesday afternoon, they were having great fun on their challenge course in the woods. It is really exciting for the children spending time away from home with their friends. Although the weather has been quite cool, the dormitories are warm and cosy, and the food is plentiful and delicious! I know that their families are really looking forward to welcoming them home this afternoon, tired but full of their amazing adventures.

Have a lovely weekend,

Elizabeth
