School Council and Eco Council
Our School Council contains representatives from Years 1 to 6. It is a structured forum for discussion and decision-making. It is a means for children to raise issues and concerns and a way of consulting with all pupils.
The School Council helps children develop responsible attitudes to the school community. It creates a feeling of belonging and encourages listening to others and develops self-confidence.
The Council meets on Thursdays every half term. Children can raise an issue by telling their class representatives, who feed back as soon as possible following the meeting.
Eco School Council
The Eco Council has members from Years 1 to 6. They are led by a chairperson and a secretary both from Year 6. It is the responsibility of the Eco members to share their opinions and those of their class with the rest of the Eco Council. As a result they are dedicated and enthusiastic individuals who work hard to improve and enhance our school for the better.
The aim of the Eco Council is to make our school a more environmentally friendly place to work and learn. During the Summer Term they are going to monitor energy use throughout the school and look for ways to make savings. As a school we encourage everybody to reuse, reduce and recycle.
