As a part of their Lenten
charity work St Edmund’s
children continued their bi
annual tradition of having a
Rainbow Day in aid of the
Rainbow Trust, a charity which
support the families of
terminally ill children, based
in Leatherhead Surrey. Each of the seven classes have a rainbow
colour and the children wore a
coloured top to signify that
colour. Then the whole school
met together in the hall to join
together to form a Rainbow to
symbolise that together we can
all make a difference. Over the
past two years the children have
raised £871.40 for the trust and
have had regular updates on how
their money helps the sick
children and their families.

A film crew arrived from Waste
busters to make a DVD of the
excellent recycling practice
established at St Edmund’s
School in Godalming. Some of the
eco school committee
representatives were asked to
explain the recycling processes
and why it is so important to
recycle our rubbish. The
children were also filmed taking
certain items which are not
collected from school to a local
recycling venue at Secretts
Garden Centre. The DVD will be
used on the Waste buster site as
a resource for other schools to
use in assemblies.
