During our assemblies this week we have talked about Remembrance. We looked at pictures of the War Memorial in Busbridge Churchyard, just across the road from us. We compared photographs from 1922, when the memorial was installed and the present day. We thought about all those who gave their lives in the service of their country. We all joined in with the silence on Wednesday morning at 11am. I have been so impressed with all that the children have learnt.  There has been a real buzz around the school this week, from Year R to Year 6 the children have been inspired to write and create some amazing pieces of work. We are entering one from each class into the GLP schools competition. I will deliver the class winners to Godalming Junior School for judging.

We are putting up a display in the school hall to celebrate some of the wonderful learning that the children have done. Some of the children’s work is shown above.

Our Bible Leaders have had a virtual meeting with Father Jonathan this week. They have held votes in each class to choose our new class saints. These will be re launched next week. The children have enjoyed finding out about the new saints.

We celebrated a very special birthday on Wednesday and being at school with the children, colleagues and friends made it a memorable day for Mrs McCarthy. 

The children have always enjoyed joining in with the Joe Wicks workouts and they have been pleased to see him back with new workouts for lockdown this week. The children in Year 4 joined in with his last 20 minutes of his amazing 24 hour workout for Children in Need this morning! Here they are: 

Yesterday we had the flu vaccinations for all the children. Almost all of the children in the school received the vaccine, which is a quick squirt up their nostrils! The morning ran very smoothly and the children were very calm and brave. The nurses commented on how well behaved and polite the children were. I hope the vaccine helps to keep the children healthy over the winter months.

Today is World Kindness Day and to mark the day, Felix in Year 6 made chocolate muffins, all individually wrapped to share with his classmates; a lovely, kind gesture.

I hope everyone has their odd socks ready for Monday! By wearing them we want to celebrate our differences and individuality!
