Out and about!

This week has been ‘Little Way Week’ and we have been learning about St Therese of Lisieux. During assembly, we talked about her life and how the little thing she did helped other people. The children always enjoy learning about St Therese and trying to follow her ‘little way’. Inspired by her good deeds, we have all tried to do little things to help one another, at home and at school. As Therese said, ‘What matters is not great deeds, but great love’. Do ask the children to tell you all about her.

On Wednesday Year 3 travelled back in time to Butser Ancient Farm. They had a lovely, sunny day and learnt so much about Stone Age life and developed some new skills too, making daub to build walls, an archaeological dig, identifying bones and carving in chalk to make pictures.

Our Year 5 children set off for Sayers Croft on Wednesday. They were so excited to finally go on their two night residential. They have had a wonderful three days and embraced the activities and new experiences with great enthusiasm. They will be back, tried and probably a little damp later this afternoon!

It’s the turn of our Year 6 adventurers next week, as they embark on their week of outdoor activities At St George’s House, Georgeham, Devon. The children are really looking forward to the week, and I’m sure it will be a wonderful experience for us all. Let’s hope the weather is good!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Elizabeth
