Back in time for Year 1, Ascension Day and Jubilee Celebrations!

Year 1 has been to the Rural Life Centre in Tilford. The children were so excited about the trip, especially the coach journey! They travelled back in time to find out about a country childhood and Victorian school. The teacher was very strict and some of the children even got to find out what the punishments would have been like! They all enjoyed the day out very much.

Yesterday, Father Jonathan come to celebrate Ascension Day Mass with us, and it was particularly special to be able to welcome back family, relatives and parishioners too. Our children, who have recently made their First Holy Communion brought their outfits to school to change into before Mass. It was lovely to be able to celebrate this special event with the whole school.

We had our second celebration assembly this morning. It was Year 5’s turn toady. They taught us about Pentecost, through drama, art and their beautiful singing. The children had so many lines to learn, we were very impressed with them all, thank you Year 5.

Our Jubilee celebrations started today with a fish and chips ‘picnic lunch’, cake competition and royal mufti! The cakes are all amazing and very difficult to choose winners, I will announce the cake competition winners after the holiday. I’m looking forward to our celebrations continuing after the holiday and seeing the family Jubilee projects that the children are doing at home. We will have our exhibition on Friday 10th June after school.

Have a lovely half-term holiday,

Elizabeth
