Giornata italiana, and a trip to Japan

Ciao, today is Italian Day! The children look amazing in their red, white and green and Italian outfits. There are activities and workshops planned for the children all day today; in KS 2: art, pizza making, singing, a virtual tour of Rome; and singing and puppets for Year R/ KS1. Everyone is very excited!

What a beautiful summer’s week we have had! The children have coped well with the heat, it will be even hotter today as temperatures are likely to be above 30 this afternoon.

It has been a busy week for trips and events with a sports masterclass at Charterhouse for Year 6 on Monday, they even had a BBQ lunch provided too! Back to Henley Fort on Tuesday, this time for Year 5. Year 4 had a very hot afternoon of multisports at Broadwater on Wednesday. The Year 2 children loved their Toy Workshop led by Emily from Chertsey Museum, on Wednesday.

Year 3 shared their amazing assembly on Japan with us all yesterday. They told us the story on Suki and Haru who proudly wore their kimonos and even though the other children didn’t understand. The sort had a powerful message, to stand up for yourself, be brave and have a go! The singing and drumming was wonderful, they made us all smile! Thank you year 3.

I don’t know whether you have noticed, but we have a new school sign in place at the entrance. We think it looks very smart.

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend,

Elizabeth
