Last week and a heatwave!

We survived the record-breaking heatwave and have made it to the very last day of the summer term! The children have been great this week, and we have all enjoyed being together, making the most of our final days of school.

This morning we have our final Leavers' and Award assembly. It is always a very special, entertaining assembly.  The children were presented with special awards: Sam, for academic achievement; Amaya, Holly and Luciano for sporting achievement; Pippa, for upholding the school ethos: Alex M, the McCarthy cup for teamwork in sports; Juliet, the Sherman Award for consistently stepping up in singing, music and drama; and Riley received the Governor’s award for the most improvement. Very well done to you all.

We also looked at some funny photos and shared memories of our Year 6 children from long ago, before they started school in September 2015. It is a lovely way to finish their journey here at St Edmunds. We wish them every happiness and success in their new schools. They leave us, proud of their achievements, and confidently ready to face exciting new challenges, we look forward to hearing all about their future successes. See if you recognise any of the little faces in the picture above? Their first school photo!

I wish everyone a very happy and restful summer holiday, I really hope the good weather continues into the holidays. Please look after each other and I look forward on seeing everyone safe and well in September.

Have an amazing summer,

Elizabeth
