Roles and responsibilities

It has been a four-day week for the children as we have an INSET day today. It is the first time that the teachers have attended a Xavier Trust INSET day in person! They are looking forward to spending the day with all the teachers from the Xavier Trust schools.

We started the week with our Year 6 children presenting their speeches for the role of House Captain. They spoke with confidence and enthusiasm in front of the whole school. The children then voted for whom they would like to represent them as their House Captains.

We have also had our first school council meeting, the children have some great ideas to get them started. Here they are:

We had a delicious Harvest themed lunch yesterday. The children enjoyed the roast dinner, Yorkshire pudding and roasted vegetables. Our new cook, Josefine has been amazing and works so hard to provide the children with a wonderful lunch. She even made the beautiful harvest loaf in the picture above! It's great to see the children really enjoying their school lunches again.

It has been lovely to see the children's wonderful learning opportunities across the school. Here are some of the year 3 children concentrating during their music lesson:

Have a lovely long weekend,
