St Edmund's Got Talent!

We have had a lovely week. Warm, sunny days and lots of exciting events taking place!

Year 1 enjoyed steeping back in time at Tilford Rural Life Centre on Tuesday where they experienced a Victorian schoolroom including a caning for a few unfortunate individuals!

We had our class photographs taken on Tuesday, the children all looked very smart! We had the pictures taken outside as the weather was fine. We kept an eye on the building progress while the photographs were taken, we were watching skips being loaded and unloaded much to the children’s fascination. The building work in progressing well, and I’m sure that they will get on very quickly next week as the builders will have the school to themselves. The end is in sight, and we are making plans to move into the new rooms before the end of term.

This morning saw our long awaited Talent Show! The children were so excited, and they were a great audience: very encouraging and supportive towards their classmates!  The acts were fantastic, we really do have a very talented group of children at St Edmund’s. It was lovely to see their talents and confidence when performing in front of a large audience. Our winners are Sam and Zac, who performed a comedy double act, in first place with 1986 points, Diana, who played the violin, is second with 1671, and The Spice Girls (Harriett, Olivia, Yocchan and Tabatha) singing 'Spice Up Your Life' are third with 1644 points. Well done to everyone who auditioned, to all those who performed today, and to the school council for organising the event with me and introducing each act. Here are all the finalists:

Have a lovely half-term holiday!
