Good Shepherd Celebration

It’s been another warm week at school, as we reached the longest day on Wednesday.

We are into the final week of the building project. There are lots of last minutes jobs going on. Next Wednesday, the containers will leave the playground, it will be great to have the space back.

This week is DT week. The children have enjoyed a wonderful range of ‘real-life’ activities including making theatres, designing marble runs, a life-size pirate ship in Year R, sock monsters, puppets, air raid shelters and river models. They have planned and designed their projects very carefully before making them!

On Wednesday, I took the year 6 Bible Leaders to represent St Edmund’s at the Good Shepherd Diocesan Celebration at Arundel Cathedral. Each school made their own standing sheep to present to Bishop Richard. Thank you to Marta, who runs sewing club, for helping us make our beautiful lamb, nicknamed Eddie. It is always lovely to see all the Diocesan schools there, represented by their school banners and great to feel part of such a big event. The children were fantastic and really enjoyed the liturgy and picnic afterwards.

Yesterday evening I was invited to a special Deanery meeting with Bishop Richard. Where he discussed his Pastoral Plan, ‘The Word Who Is Life’ with the Guildford parishes, formations groups and headteachers. We will be continuing discussion on how we can work more collaboratively across our parishes and schools.

Have a lovely weekend and enjoy the sunshine,

Elizabeth
