New classrooms and winners!

Hot off the press: District Sports Winners 2023! St Edmund's maintain their winning streak with overall winners and the boys and girls were winners too! Fantastic result everyone!

After a few very busy days, we have managed to complete the classroom moves! The Year 5 and 6 children moved into the brand-new classrooms on Monday and that freed up their rooms for Year 1 and 2 to move into! There were many boxes to unpack, which had been in the storage containers. We have been having a really good clear out too, only trying to put back what we really need. The children have been really helpful, patient and excited to finally see what all the building work was for! Everything is looking very smart, and we have almost everything in its right place now! It is great to have more space and a new staffroom too! We will have a proper, official opening celebration in September.

On Wednesday morning, Mr Edelson came to visit Year R to talk to the children about Judaism. The children learnt about the preparations for Shabbat, their Sabbath Day which starts on Friday evening at sunset. The children shared challah bread freshly made by the Edelsons that morning!

This morning we walked to St Edmund’s Church for Mass with Year 5 and 6. It was a lovely Mass, Year 5 led the readings. Fr Jonathan talked about the important role that Year 6 play in the school, their moving on to their secondary schools and the Year 5 children being ready to take on the responsibilities of Year 6.

This afternoon the long awaited District Sports competition will finally take place. The last event was back in 2019, so none of the KS 2 children have taken part before. Being held a Charterhouse on their running track is a great experience for the children. We wish them all the very best of luck!

Have a lovely weekend,
