St Edmund's Feast Day, cake sale and a special visitor!

On Monday we talked about St Edmund and with the help of a story map, the children were busy learning the story of his life, using actions to help them, do ask them if they can remember and retell the story to you!

Much to the children’s excitement, we had an unusual visitor on Tuesday, Choco the pygmy goat and Beverley from Huckleberries Nurture Farm. The children who have been going each week planned and led the assembly to tell us all about what they have been doing and learning! It was lovely to see them sharing their experiences with the whole school, I think there are lots of other children who are hoping they may get to go in future too!

We welcomed Father Jonathan with a wonderful celebration for our school feast day on Wednesday afternoon. We had a special Mass with many parents, grandparents and parishioners joining us.

Yesterday was very colourful with everyone in mufti, many wearing purple the colour used to represent Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Day. Tom and Ollie did a brilliant job organising the mufti day and very successful cake sale in memory of their mum. Many of the cakes they had made themselves and other children in the class had been busy baking to support them too! The boys raised over £500; what a fantastic achievement, I know that their mum would be very, very proud of them!

Next week we will learn more about our forthcoming Reindeer Run, when we have visitors from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice on Monday. Preparations for Christmas Performances will be well underway too, there is so much to look forward to at this time of year!

Have a lovely weekend
