Our new normal...

We have been back for the past two weeks and have managed to get our Year R, 1 and 6 children settled back into school. They have been amazing, everyone has come in, and gone home smiling! The groups, classrooms and staggered drop off, pick up, lunch and playtimes have all run smoothly. Well done everyone! Above you can see Year 1 doing some socially distanced dancing to Ghostbusters! Here are Year 6 busily working in their group. I think they are quite enjoying having their own desks!

It is with much sadness that we have realised this week that we will not be able to get all classes back for a month. Whilst the social distances measures remain, we cannot fit any more children into our school. We are planning to get everyone back in the final week of term, probably in two groups, to see their teachers and meet their new teachers. I have just sent out an email with details of the staffing for next year. Despite the strangeness of the current times, the cycle of school life continues as we prepare for Year 6 to leave us and our new Year R pupils to join St Edmund's.

I have managed to do class assemblies with everyone in their groups this week. We talked about the Holy Trinity and how God sent His Son to be the saviour the world. We looked at the Pope's letter, Laudato Si, amd talked about how some good may have come to our world over the past few months with little travel and reduced pollution and how we can do little things to help look after our wonderful world.

I hope the sunshine returns next week, have a good weekend,

Elizabeth
