Welcome to the Summer Term

Welcome back to the summer term! I hope that everyone had a wonderful Easter and a lovely holiday. I think everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather over the Easter weekend, just a shame it didn't last! I'm looking out on a very wet Friday morning. We are all hoping that we see some more sunshine next week as Year 4 head off to Sayer's Croft for their first residential.

The children are well rested and back with enthusiasm; all looking very pleased to be back with their friends and enjoying their learning.

During our assemblies this week we have thought about what it would have been like for the disciples after Jesus had died and how, like Thomas, we sometimes need help to see and believe the good news. Father Jonathan joined us this morning to celebrate an Easter Mass with our school and parish family. It was a lovely joyous occasion, with enthusiastic new altar servers too.

As we start the summer term, we have so much to look forward to: school trips and visits, sporting events, our talent show, fist communions, our May procession to Ladywell and a few tests and assessments too! Our building project is on track, and we have all been excited to see the developments made over Easter. The newly redecorated front office is looking very light and bright. Levelling off the back pathway to playground has made a huge different to the area, and we can't wait to get into our new classrooms.

On Wednesday morning we had a wonderful visit from Mark from the David Shepherd Foundation all about endangered animals. The children learnt more about the animals being supported and why they are endangered. I was very impressed by the children's knowledge. They had some great questions too! The foundation is based in Shalford, and we are keen to continue our work with them.
